CES 2025 in Las Vegas showcased next-gen best gaming laptops of 2025 faster processors, improved displays, and better cooling for a smoother gaming experience. Here are our top picks.
1. ASUS Strix Scar 16, Strix Scar 18, Strix Scar G16 and G18

ASUS is coming with their new redesigned Strix Scar 16, Scar 18, Strix Scar G16 and G18 Gaming laptops. Full 360 coverage of RGB lighting that looks even more cool than ever before and one of the best gaming laptops of 2025.
2023 G14’s LED lighting makes a comeback with new Scar Models.
Even more interesting is the new easy access panel on the bottom for tooless upgrades. Just by sliding the magnetic clutch, you get fast access to the two M.2 storage slots and two RAM slots. The SSDs are not screwed either, so no tools are needed at all. That’s highly efficient and other brands should take note of this.
Last Year’s 2024 version of the Strix G16 and G18 also getting refreshed with AMD’s latest Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor, which comes with 16 cores 32 threads, upto 5.4 GHz max boost, 144 MB cache, 54 TDP. 3D V-Cache with Zen 5 in gaming laptop sounds like an epic combination although it maxes out with RT 5070 Ti Graphics for some reason.
The popular Zephyrus G14 and G16 also get some nice updates this year. Zen 5 CPU for the G14, more powerful RTX 50 GPUs for both, more RAM for the Intel G16, faster WiFi and more.
Unfortunately, the AMD based Zephyrus G16 seems to max out with RTX 5070 Graphics, so you need to get the Intel version to get higher.
Asus’s Flow Z13 is also making a comeback this year featuring AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. It has integrated graphics that apparently compares with the RTX 4060 which is quite impressive for a 13 inch tablet device.
The Z13 can be paired with ASUS X6 mobile, a portable eGPU that goes right upto RTX 5090 laptop graphics with full power limit. And this year, the X6 Mobile uses thunderbolt 5, instead of ASUS’s own proprietary connnection so any other laptop can use it now.
2. Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI & Acer Helios 18 AI

Acer’s New 16S AI and Helios 18 AI. The S in Neo 16S means slim, which is much lighter and and thinner compared to previous Helios New 16 as compared to last year’s which was the heaviest 16 inch laptops. It also comes with OLED screens now, with upto RTX 5070 Ti Graphics compared to maxing out at 4070 of the previous gen which means moe GPU power and 50% more vRAM this year.
Helios 18 AI goes upto RTX 5090 graphics, has new RGB lighting bar on the front and goes upto 4 memory slots from 2 in last year and 3 storage slots from 2, one of them now supporting faster PCIe Gen 5 storage.
It still has 2560 by 1600 Mini LED screen option, but now in 2025 there’s also a 4K mini LED screen with dual resolution. This makes you swap between 1080p at 240Hz or 4K at 120Hz depending on your preference or game that you are playing. The cooling system also get’s an upgrade this year, got faster and better ports and upgraded speakers.
With all of these improvements, it can move from one of the cheaper options in previous year to now being at the higher end this year.
3. HP Omen Max 16

HP is coming one of the best gaming laptops of 2025 with their new Omen Max 16 – their most powerful gaming laptop this year. This one is also available right upto RTX 5090 graphics along with an OLED screen. The new cooling system was designed with Intel, basically the fans reverse direction every 4 hours or so, when you are not gaming to remove dust build up.
They are also using their new cryo compound which is similar to liquid metal but with increased viscosity to prevent leakages and improve longevity. They’ve also added a new “Unleashed” performance mode which allows you to change power limits and overclock so more customisation than previous generations. Design is all black and metal which gives off a clean finish.
4. XMG Neo 16

XMG Neo 16, one of the best gaming laptops of 2025 is coming with separate CPU and GPU boards. This has been their top level gaming laptop but now they are coming with better features. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to upgrade CPU and GPU boards individually, bu the increased customisation makes it easier for them to offer more configurations including both AMD’s fire Range or Intel’s Arrow Lake processors, that means even more increased level of repairability.
There’s also optional mini LED screen now as the premium option was missing last year. Other improvements include PCIe Gen 5 SSD support, improved AIR cooling, the secure liquid cooling connection and quiter liquid cooling pump, better hinge with less screen wobble, faster USB and SD Card speeds, addition of Mini Display Port 2.1, higher watt type C Charging, improved feeling keyboard, and larger RGB light bar on the front.
6. Gigabyte Aorius Master 16 and Aorius Master 18

Aorius Master 18 is a full blown beast coming with latest CPU and GPU specs but also comes with more room for 4 RAM slots and 3 SSD slots, so plenty of room for upgrades. And also, a new RGB light bar on the front.
The larger 18 inch model has a mini LED screen, while the smaller 16 inch model has OLED screen.
Gigabyte is coming with the panel technology, a first for their segment which is a huge upgrade.
Aorus Elite 16 which is basically almost like Aorus 16X from last gen but with a refreshed CPU, GPU and OLED screen.
7. MSI Titan 18 and MSI Raider 18
Titan 18 gaming laptop is coming with upgraded specs including upto RTX 5090 graphics, and Intel Core Ultra 9 285Hx processor, the only laptop in the list that uses this whereas most other laptops are coming with the Intel Core Ultra 9 275Hx, which is just 100 Mx lower and presumably cheaper. Although technically, Titan has the better processor compared to lot of competition this year.
MSI have lowered the Titan down from 4 memory slots to 2 so they can prioritze higher memory speeds instead of capacity, because memory speed runs lower once you add more sticks but it’s back to having 4 M.2 storage slots instead of 3. The Titan norse myth design theme which looks kinda cool and is limited to 1000 units.
MSI Raider 18, one of the best gaming laptops of 2025 is coming with upgraded AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 3D processor which goes right up to RTX 5090 graphics, unlike ASUS which only goes upto 5070 Ti with this CPU in their Strix.
8. Razer Blade 16

Razer Blade is coming with 30% thinner, 14% lighter and AMD processor instead of Intel which can be justified as AMD are more power efficient than Intel. 2024 Blade 16, as much as it felt like a big metal slab, the 2025 model is comparably lighter and slimmer. Blade 16 maxes out with NVIDA’s RTX 5090 graphics with 155 Watts.
9. Lenovo Legion Pro 7i

Lenovo Legion Pro 7i has moved all the ports away from the back in favor of the new RGB light bar. Pro 7I is Intel only. As for AMD, they might come in later models.
The Thinner Legion 7i also comes with upgraded specs with OLED screen now.
Legion Pro 5 and Legion 5 also gets optional OLED screens too and some minor changes in their exterior.
Legion 9 upgradations might happen later this year.
One of the best gaming laptops of 2025, Legion Pro 7i has been their top performing laptops so they might want to differentiate Legion 9 with other new or different things.
10. Alienware Area 51

One of the best gaming laptops of 2025, Alienware is bringing back the Area 51 series with 16 and 18 inch versions. As compared to 2019 models which had upgradeable CPU and GPU, the new Area 51 laptop only shares as the CPU and GPU are not upgradeable in 2025 Models.
The classic rear lighting ring is replaced by new translucent design.
As their top performing gaming model, it’s coming with insanely high specs. It has XMP support for DDR5 7200 memory which is the highest for any gaming laptop.
